Norma June Hurst

Norma June Hurst, 75, of Gause, Texas passed away on February 27, 2016. Norma was born in Austin Texas, on August 16, 1940 to the late Austin Spear and the late Helen June Evans. She was the granddaughter to the late Mary Gladys Tidwell. She retired from Civil Service at Wurtsmith AFB, Michigan. in 1988 and moved back to her family home in Gause. She was a substitute teacher in the Hearne School District until 2009; because of her love for animals she also volunteered some of her time at the Humane Society. Norma is preceded in death by her husband; Dennis E. Hurst, her parents; Austin Spear and Helen June Evans. She is survived by her bother; Thomas Spear and wife of Westmorland, California, her sister; Gayle Frizell and husband of Pflugerville, Texas, daughter; Kelly  Langford of Hutto, Texas, son; Robert Gingrich Jr. and wife of Ft. Mojave, Arizona, daughter; Cheryl Wells and husband of Deville, Lousiana, daughter; Rhonda Avery and husband of Oscoda, Michigan.

Nelle Yvonne Thornton Werner Gallagher

Nelle Yvonne Thornton Werner Gallagher, born July 23,1935, of Calvert, Texas, passed away on April 1, 2016. She was grateful for her Lord and Savior for allowing her to spend a while on His beautiful creation of Earth. A family visitation was held on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 408 S. Magnolia St., Hearne, Texas. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Tehuacana Cemetery, Tehuacana, Texas. She attended grade school at Tehuacana and high school at Mexia, graduating in 1953. She also attended Navarro Junior College and McLennan Community College earning an associate degree in Human Growth and Development. She was a member of Sneed Memorial Methodist Church of Calvert, Texas, and a regular attendee of Grace United Methodist Church at Hearne, Texas.

Raymond “Bubba” McCarver

Raymond “Bubba” McCarver, 51, of Sutton Community, passed away Thursday March 31, 2016 at Scott & White Hospital in College Station, Texas. Bubba was director of security at Post Oak Mall in College Station, Texas. He was also a Volunteer firefighter for The Blackjack community and for Madisonville, Texas for over 25 years. Bubba was a Master Mason of the Masonic Mason Lodge in Hearne, Texas. He was also a police officer in Hearne, Texas. He completed the Texas A&M Fire Academy. Bubba was a respected ordained minister for over 10 years. He is preceded in death by his father, John W. McCarver Jr. of Hearne. He is survived by mother; Raymer McCarver of Hearne, Brothers; John W. McCarver III and wife, Teresa of Hearne, Shannon McCarver and wife Jamie of Hearne, and Michael McCarver Sr. and wife, Paula of the Sutton Community, Son; Jakob McCarver of Sutton Community, daughter; Kayla McCarver and husband, David Lyons Jr.

Amy Elayne Srkala Jones

Amy Elayne Srkala Jones, 53, of Houston, was born June 16, 1962, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at her residence. Before becoming ill, she worked in the Intake Division of the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. Visitation was held Saturday, March 26, from noon till time of the funeral service that began at 1:00 p.m. at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. Interment followed in Sunnyside Cemetery in Calvert. Services were officiated by Pastor Charlie Miller. Pallbearers were Tomas Bernal, Rachel Grant, Quinn Ashworth, James Ringo, Kelli McMahon, and Stephani Short. Amy was preceded in death by her father; Ervin Srkala and her sister; Edith Srkala. Survivors include her mother; Donna Srkala of Houston, her husband; Robert A. Jones of Houston, her daughter and son-in-law; Amanda Eileen and Justin Ferrell of Huffman, her grandchildren; Sierra, Victoria, and Chad. Arrangements were entrusted to Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home.

Maugro M. Gomez, 65, born April 21, 1950, passed from this life Thursday, March 24, 2016. He is preceded in death by his parents; Pedro and Merced Gomez, Daughter; Sandra Garcia, and siblings; Seniada Perez, Yolanda Lopez, Joe M. Gomez Sr., and Ernestina Duron. He is survived by wife; Mary Lou Ruiz Gomez, His Children; Mario Gomez Sr., Heather Gomez, Dianna Wells, Maugro Gomez Sr., Jami Gomez, Carlos Ruiz, Connie Martinez, Arlin Garcia, and Johnny Perez Jr.; 30 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, Siblings; Mary Elda McNair, Ninfa Solis, Silvia Montelongo, Jackie Bernal, Pedro Gomez Jr., and Ruben Gomez. Maugro lived in Hearne, Texas for 47 years and worked for GATX for 32 of those years. He also ran a family owned and operated business “Auto Plus” in Hearne, Texas for 25 years.

Margie Katherine Walker Dibble

Margie Katherine Walker Dibble, 89, of Gause, was born June 30, 1926, passed away at St. Joseph Hospice in Bryan. One of the sayings she liked to use was, “She flew away to be with the Lord”, and this, she herself certainly did on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24 at Heartfield-Ritter Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Friday, March 25 at Gause United Methodist Church with a burial that followed in Gause Cemetery. Services were officiated by Pastor Kenneth Byrd. Pallbearers were Edward Dibble, Matt Dibble, Robbie Dibble, Keith Dibble, Joshua Dibble, and Austin Dibble. Margie was preceded in death by her parents; Herbert Walker Sr. and Marie Crockett Walker, her husband; Samuel E. Dibble Sr., her brothers; Carl Walker and Buddy Walker. Survivors include her sons; Sammy Dibble of Groesbeck, Texas, Michael K.
