Mary Jane Gentry- McPhail

Mary Jane Gentry-McPhail, 68 (The daughter of Willie Faye Gentry and the late Rev. Reginald Gentry, born August 26, 1948) of Fresno, Texas (formerly of Hearne, Texas) entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 27, 2016. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 5 at New Faith Church at 4315 West Fuqua St, Houston, Texas 77045. Burial will follow at Houston Memorial Gardens.

Rudolph “Pee Wee” Gurode 65 was born November 12, 1950 of Houston and formerly of Hearne passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Glenn Mack Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life honoring “Pee Wee” is set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Old Elam Baptist Church at 1202 West 2nd Street in Hearne, Texas. Rev. F.C. Pauline Michelle Graham 59, born June 5, 1957, of Bryan passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Navasota. George Tom Onstott

George Tom Onstott, 50, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home in Robertson County. George was the owner of T.V. Lawn Service. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, and being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Jessica Lynn Onstott, his parents; Marion Onstott and Charlotte Mayes, His sisters; Juanice Spencer and Marion Seba. He is survived by his wife; Valerie Onstott, his daughters; Ashley Marie, and Tiffany Elaine Onstott. His adopted son; Jeremy Scurlock, his brothers; James and Calvin Onstott, his brother-in-law; Brian Hartman, three nephews; Aaron, Calvin, Garrett Onstott, one niece; Destiny Onstott, and his Brother/best friend, Randy Threadgill and Paul Vaughn He will be forever missed and loved. Viewing for George Tom Onstott will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home in Hearne Texas.

Vence Sam Corpora

Vence Sam Corpora age 90 passed away Friday, September 23, 2016. Vence was born on Thursday, January 7, 1926 to Sam Corpora and Angela Salvato Corpora. He is preceded in death by his parents; Sam and Angela Salvato Corpora, his wife; Frances Marie Reistino Corpora on April 6, 2013 and his brothers; Joe, Louis, Vence (infant), Jasper and Jim. He is survived by his daughters and son-in-laws; Sandra and Melvin Ryan of Hearne and Bernadette and Jim Sloat of Sugar Land, his grandchildren; Mark Ryan, David Ryan and wife Shannon, Elizabeth Priestly Siffert, Vincent Priestly and wife Brittany, his great grandchildren; Jacey Jo Ryan, Kenzie Schultz, Nicholas Ryan, Jacob Ryan, Gabriel Siffert, James Priestly, Luke Priestly, and Elyse Foley and his sister; Lena Jakovich. Visitation was held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hearne.

Rev. Dr. Ellis L. Hewitt, Jr.

Rev. Dr. Ellis L. Hewitt, Jr. entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. Ellis was an only child born to Ellis Hewitt and Lillie Mae Williams Hewitt in Calvert, Texas where he graduated Valedictorian from W.D. Spigner Colored High School. After graduation, he attended Texas Southern University and later joined the United States Air Force where he served for twentyfour years and retired as a Master Sergeant. His Air Force career carried him to the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Vietnam, and Germany and back to San Antonio, TX. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University and in May 2000 received his Masters of Arts dree in Pastoral Ministry from Oblate School of Theology. In 1981 Dr. Hewitt lead the Westridge Park First Baptist Church and in 2005 he founded the Saving Faith Baptist Church. In 2015 he served at the Mount Olive Baptist in Crystal City before returning home to Grace First Baptist Church. Rev. Dr.

Louis James Swick Jr.

Louis James Swick Jr. passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at his residence in Hearne, Texas at the age of 72 years. He was born December 14, 1943 to parents Louis Swick Sr. and Margaret Warhol Swick in Bremond, Texas. He graduated from Texas School for the Deaf and married Andra Davis on September 29, 1981 in Bryan, Texas. Louis had lived in Hearne, for 30 years previously before living in Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents; Louis Swick Sr. and Margaret Warhol Swick. He is survived by his Wife of 34 years; Andra Swick of Hearne, Son; Scott Swick of Amarillo, Step- Son; Andy Thomas and wife Lynette of Odessa, Sister; Janet Hadley and husband Jerry of Bremond, Brother; Daniel Swick and wife Sherry of Franklin, 6 grandchildren; Benjamin, Adam, and Lily Swick, Matthew, Patrick, and Diana Thomas. Visitation was held Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow with Ms. Helen Tally officiating.

Billie Jean Green

Billie Jean Green, 83, of Houston Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Born on April 1, 1933 in Rosebud, Texas to Noble and Annie Lee Johnson. She was married to James (Jim) Green for 67 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was preceded in death by per parents; Noble and Annie Lee Johnson, Stepmother; Lovie Chestnut, sister; Dorothy Pitman, son; James Leslie Green. Billie is survived by her husband; Jim, son; Steve of Pearland, Texas, grandson; James Leslie, brother; Woody Laywell of Houston, sister; Francis Slatton of New Mexico and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joyanna Lynne Hunter Williams

Joyanna Lynne Hunter Williams, 50, was born on July 1, 1966 and the first child of four siblings born to Richard and Joyce Burke. She left this world to be with her Father in Heaven on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. She accepted Christ as her Savior at Skybreak Church under the leadership of Pastor Danny Green. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Williams Sr. on January 27, 1996. She was preceded in death by her father; Guy Hunter, sister; Christy Hunter, Grandparents; Rose and Eligha Gregory, Granddaughter; Angel Gomez. Joyanna Lynne leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband; Thomas Williams Sr., daughters; Ashley Dunn (Jeffery), Brittany Williams (Sebastian) Ja Kenndra Taylor (Jemarcus), and Victoria Williams (Devin), sons; Adam Gomez (Jessica), Alen Gomez (Brandy), TJ Thomas Williams Jr. (Ra Tessalyn), and Isaiah Williams, her sisters; Cindy Scarbrough (Bo), Constance Siegel (Josie), Kyla Hunter, and Constance Hunter, and brother; Bryan Hunter.
