Lone Star Burger Bar closes its doors

Melissa and Romes Williams opened Lone Star Burger Bar and Coffee House in 2008. On Sunday, August 17, 2014, they announced that Burger Bar would be closing due to deteriorating health issues. In the message sent to all the loyal customers and posted on the front door, they said, “we have been honored to serve the people of OUR community”. Melissa and Romes have served the community in many ways not just at the Burger Bar. They will still be active in the community but cannot keep the pace required by Burger Bar, shifting their focus to the Lone Star Tanning and Gift Shoppe. On the Burger Bar Facebook page, many loyal customers posted their thoughts.
Postings such as “ your health is more important and we will miss you”, “loved those chicken fried steak sandwiches and onion rings”, “where am I going to find another fried baked potato”, “sad news will miss the good food, but more importantly your smiling faces”. Some sent prayers for good health. Thanks to Melissa and Romes for caring so much about our community. You will certainly be missed at the restaurant, but we are happy you will still be around showing your smiling faces and willingness to help your community wherever you are needed.
